CLINTON CORRUPTION MASKS
PARTY’S PERVERSE AGENDA
It’s like hiring a painter who promises you two coats of Dutch Boy, but only applies one layer using some glop from the bargain rack at Target.
Anybody would be steamed.
There’s no doubt that the Democrats have had enough of Hillary’s self-pitying and increasingly desperate efforts to blame everyone but herself for the death of her deepest longing. Former Interim DNC Chair Donna Brazile’s revelation of how the Clintons bought the party is a clear indication that Hillary and Bill are an embarrassment they want gone.
To me this confirms an assessment I offered in a blog post back during the campaign when that Trump-is-the-new-Mussolini mantra was getting its first market testing. I observed then that Mussolini comparisons were more applicable to The Donald’s rival…
“While Hitler certainly knew how to put on a show to fire up the masses, for Mussolini the show always seemed to be the end in itself: the strutting, the posing, the image projection.
“That’s what I see in Hillary. To be sure, she’s an ideologue, a longtime acolyte of radical leftist theoretician Saul Alinsky.
“But compare her with Bernie Sanders, a genuinely committed, loudly avowed collectivist partisan. Hillary’s principles seem always to be in the service of self-aggrandizement, all her energy dedicated to advancing a lifelong dream of being the first woman President.
“She comes off as Il Duce in pantsuits.”
That the Clintons had such total control over the party and yet she still lost certainly speaks to the ineptitude of this seasoned and experienced candidate we were so often told she was. As has been observed since the election (even by Democrats), Hillary was incapable of connecting with the American people.
But we shouldn’t let Donna Brazile’s revelations distract us from the unalterable fact that the Dems lost for reasons beyond Hillary’s ineffectiveness as a communicator.
I observed in a post this past June that…
“It wasn’t only the Democrats’ message which voters rejected. They understood that the message merely expressed what the Democrats have become. And that’s what they rejected.
“A critical mass of people perceive the Democratic Party — at least on the level of its national leadership — as the vanguard of a collectivist revolution pursuing an agenda that bodes no good for the future of the nation.
“Americans don’t want our economy turned into Venezuela.
“They can’t accept the U.S. as just one more borderless blob on a global projection map, deprived of our national distinctiveness.
“They resist being forced into a rainbow of limitless sexual variety and antagonism toward religiously inspired moral values.
“And they surely won’t agree that their own hard work, initiative and family ties rob the poor and minorities of opportunity, rights or justice.
“The Democratic Party has come to represent all these objectionable ideas and more. That’s why Donald Trump, not Hillary Clinton, is in the White House.”
And yet the party’s national leaders continue to double down on their globalist / progressivist agenda.
Socialist Bernie Sanders — crushed so effectively by the Clinton machine — has been called the party’s face. “Our job is to radically transform the Democratic party,” he has declared, as Tom Perez, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee screams pathetically, “Those Republican leaders and President Trump don’t give a sh** about the people they’re trying to hurt.”
It’s clear that Hillary Clinton isn’t the only disconnected Democrat. Forgive me for repeating myself, but as I wrote in that June post…
“America needs the Democratic Party. That is to say, America needs what the Democratic Party should be.
“We need a party that speaks authentically for working people and seeks to advance their valid interests. But we need it to function within the limits of law.
“We don’t need it constantly trying to circumvent the Constitution or to transform it into a meaningless “living” document, interpreted by activist jurists who see no limit to its endless flexibility.
“We need a party that will stand up to the money interests. Not one that’s in bed with Wall Street, Silicone Valley, and Hollywood tycoons, thriving on secret bundled campaign cash, off-the-books favors, gifts to dubious private foundations, and $100,000-plus “speaking fees.
“We need a party that defines the national interest as the good of all. We don’t like being carved up into rival ethnic and interest groups, each faction made to feel more aggrieved, marginalized and resentful than the others.
“Yes, there are natural divisions between people, and unfortunate prejudices to go with them. But those divisions should be bridged, not intentionally deepened and exploited.
“We need a party that’s committed to our territorial integrity, national defense, First Amendment rights, cultural continuity, and shared ideals. Not one that seeks dominance by calling those ideals false and promoting the public’s acceptance of American decline.
“We need a proper Democratic Party that can keep our two-party system working, with legitimate competing political visions, and the traditional separation of powers.
“This is the Democratic Party we need.”
Alas, Democrat leaders will now lay all their failures at the feet of Hillary and Bill. That’s what Donna Brazile’s book is about, after all. But even if the picture she paints of Clinton corruption is entirely accurate, it’s not the real story.
The real story is the corruption of the Democratic Party.
Perhaps Donald Trump should declare himself a Democrat. He’s shaken up the hapless Republicans pretty thoroughly. Maybe he could have a salutary effect over on the other side of the aisle.
At any rate, pray for true reform.
A cute bit of Photoshop work currently in circulation suggests how Hillary must be feeling about Donna Brazile right now…
Not that I have much hope for reform. A recent small incident illustrates the ideological mind lock that grips the Democrats’ national leadership. Seeking to hire IT techs, DNC Data Services Manager Madeleine Leader issued an email that included the following caveat…
“I personally would prefer that you not forward to cisgender straight white males, since they’re already in the majority.”
Ahh…what can one say? The Daily Wire has the story…
I’m not alone in my disgust with the Democratic Party. With what must be great anguish, CNN reports on a poll that sees the Dems hitting their lowest public approval rate in a quarter century…
“Only 37% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Democrats, down from 44% in March of this year. A majority, 54%, have an unfavorable view …. The rating includes low favorable ratings from some core Democratic groups, including nonwhites (48%) and people under 35 years old (33%).”
