CATHOLIC WRITERS GUILD
ENDORSES MY NOVEL
Whether it’s the Good Housekeeping seal for product quality, the J.D. Power certification of customer satisfaction, or any number of other such designations, we take these endorsements as evidence that a particular item has been evaluated and shown to meet some expectation of suitability and value.
Well, I’m pleased to announce that my novel about the family of Jesus, MY BROTHER’S KEEPER, has been awarded the Seal of Approval from the Catholic Writers Guild.
CWG is a professional association of authors involved in literary pursuits reflecting Catholic faith. It’s a network of creative specialists intent on reinvigorating the Catholic literary tradition that was once a prominent element of the mainstream book market.
The organization offers seminars and educational programs that aid writers in developing their professional skills and navigating the complexities of the publishing industry.
And the CWG Seal is an increasingly important indicator that the works on which it appears possess editorial integrity and are consistent with Church teaching. As CWG’s website explains, the SoA…
“provides a tangible reassurance to readers and bookstore owners that the book does support Catholic beliefs and values….
“Readers can be assured that SoA books will not offend their faith and have a certain level of editorial quality.
“Store owners can be assured that they can stock the book on their shelves, host the author for a signing, etc. without compromising their appearance or mission as a faithful Catholic apostolate.”
The Catholic Writers Guild expresses its unique mission in this prayer…
“Holy Family, guide our minds, our hearts, our hands, as we write, speak, illustrate — help our words to live in union with the Word.
“Teach us discipline and skill to use the talents God gives us.
“Give us also insight and courage to convey God’s love through our craft, and humility to be open to His divine will, shaping our lives, in loving loyalty to His Church.
“In Christ’s name, Amen.”
