THE DEMS JUST KEEP
PLAYING POLITICS
Events have proven the truth of my own misjudgment. As I wrote recently…
“Drawing conclusions from early primary elections is always risky, because states vary. A candidate who flops in one region can perform impressively in another part of the country. And in politics a couple of months is an eternity.
“A lot can change.”
That has certainly been shown to be true, and I should have stopped there. Instead, I wrote…
“Nevertheless, after Iowa and New Hampshire, things aren’t looking good for Joe Biden. There’s enough of a geographic spread between those two states to give the impression that ‘momentum’ — the elusive sense people impute to a politician’s progress on the campaign trail — has abandoned him.”
And, wouldn’t you know it, now “good old Joe from Scranton” is the front-runner.
So, how’s he using his prominence? Perhaps emboldened by his recent wins, Biden is doing everything he can to impede the Trump Administration from unifying the country in response to the coronavirus pandemic…
“‘What’s going on here? This is not a Democratic hoax, this is incompetence on the part of the president of the United States at the expense of the country and the world,’ Biden said…”
He has criticized Trump’s travel ban as “xenophobia” and “hysteria.”
Oh, really, Joe? And what do you suggest the President do?
We’re all nervous about this plague. Hell, at my age I’m in the category of most susceptible and at risk for complications.
But, aaah, the Democrats…
Joe isn’t alone. Former Obama White House ebola response coordinator Ron Klain dismissed the travel ban…
“Part of this is the classic Trump distraction tactic and he wants to see progressives debate the travel ban, so on and so forth, and not come after where he has failed.”
But then, a lot of people are going a little crazy. Here’s David Brooks of The New York Times…
Come on, gimme me a break.
And it’s not just highfalutin’ media types like Brooks. Someone identifying himself only as “D” posted this scary scenario on Facebook…
Yeah, right.
Russia wasn’t enough. Ukraine wasn’t enough. An absurd impeachment wasn’t enough. Trump’s alleged “fascism,” “racism,” and “white supremacy” aren’t enough.
Dems and their abettors need to be careful, or they could bring on the nightmare scenario they’ve been hyping. The Donald could call a true national emergency — not just travel restrictions, quarantines, and aid to the states — a total mobilization that puts the country on a war footing. Under such circumstances we could see a crackdown on the active sedition in which a lot of people have been engaged for the last three years.
You want comprehensive presidential action? You just might get it.
Take a deep breath, folks (before coronavirus makes it difficult to do so), and consider this observation by Dr. Milton R. Wolfe, a Kansas radiologist active in conservative politics. He puts his finger on at least part of the problem with this pointed meme…
The good doctor might well have included Joe Biden and his cohorts in that assessment.
Sure, The Donald and his people are not above criticism. There has been a bit of thrashing about, as health experts have struggled to discern the true scope of the threat we face. And yes, there have been some missteps and miscalculations. That’s to be expected when a crisis situation arises quickly, the way this one has. But as I observed in my last post, Trump has…
“emphasized that, while no one can predict how the pattern of infection will develop, preparations are being made by the CDC and our nation’s hospitals, that screenings are underway, and that there’s no immediate reason to panic.”
“Xenophobia” and “hysteria,” indeed. Shame on you, Joe.

Warren Cole Smith of World Magazine points out that the Bible’s advice is always timely (look closely at that line from the Letter of James highlighted in yellow)…
Meanwhile, an unknown Facebook denizen sees signs, portents, and political implications in our present circumstances…
Disease be damned, this image currently in circulation underscores the addictive power of smoking…
As this one testifies to our undying faith in computer technology…
All of which goes to prove that there’s humor to be found even in pandemics.
May God protect us all.
____________
A distinct sense of panic has been building as coronavirus infections spread. But according to Nobel laureate and Stanford Professor Michael Levitt, there are factors that limit the rate of disease transmission…
“In exponential growth models, you assume that new people can be infected every day, because you keep meeting new people. But, if you consider your own social circle, you basically meet the same people every day. You can meet new people on public transportation, for example; but even on the bus, after some time most passengers will either be infected or immune.”
Check out his observations at the Israeli online journal, C-Tech…

Incidentally, here’s a meme that draws a conclusion about the coronavirus threat which I think is very unwise. Just because you don’t know anybody who’s sick doesn’t mean that nobody’s sick. However, this does illustrate how all the anti-Trump propaganda has destroyed faith in the media…

It doesn’t matter what President Trump does, it will be not enough — ridiculous over-reaction, or imbecilic. And shame on Nancy for all the “Christmas Gifts,” including taxpayer-funded abortions she tried to sneak in the President’s emergency funding request. So much for her emergency.

Biden is not an intellectual heavy weight. He has no medical degree. He spouts out what all Democrats scream…..do nothing and the pandemic will wipe out the country.
Biden denies truth and history. The Spanish flu of 1918 came in two waves. The first in the Spring. It was quite contagious. Symptoms were high fevers, coughing etc. The flu disappeared. Then in September of 1918 the flu came back like with vengeance. The person to person spread was even more deadly. Boston was hit hard. Thousands died in a matter of a month, October. The symptoms were high fever, shortness of breath and by day three patients had full-blown pneumonia. Autopsy reports revealed that around the lungs it was encased in white frothy fluid, the lungs were blue and had red red spots from a pin point to dime size, meaning internal bleeding.
Patients died a horrible death. It was as though hell descended on earth. The Democrats don’t like to look at past pandemics. Joe, slow Joe, incompetent Joe…. believes in unicorns. He isn’t watching the devastation in China, Italy and Iran nor the epidemiology of the world where countries are hit the hardest. Italy put in place a massive lock-down of cities with millions inside. Joe remains silent as do other Democrats. Iran has police going to neighborhoods to tell people to stay inside. Democrats would prefer, as you wrote Bill for a huge death count. Then say Trump did not do anything. The bill for Pandemic was pushed towards passing with 8 billion dollars. The Democrats included in this bill hidden away…. billions of this money was to be spent on ABORTIONS. There is proof now Democrats want death. If not by pandemic then abortion. Why are they not for life?
The oath many medical personnel took was “Do no harm”. The Democrats didn’t take this oath. Sanders can’t do anything. Biden and Sanders are high-risk by their age health risk…heart disease, with their decisions to not have quarantines…they could be the next victims? A vote for Biden is a vote for incompetence.

We are in the midst of a prophylactic plague. It’s not like there are people in our streets calling out, “Bring out your dead,” every morning. The death toll is barely known. Is it over 1000? In a nation of more than 33-million people, it is more likely that more people died last night from some manner of cancer in our country than have died WORLDWIDE from COVID-19 since December of 2019. But, indeed, we are caught in a conundrum, aren’t we? Stay home. Don’t touch anybody. Don’t breathe the same air as anyone else. Don’t be the only thing we understand — and that is, to be a human being, expressed in all its strength by our societal impulse to be together. We are creatures of community — not isolation.
I am not questioning the wisdom of prudence. I think that the President (may he be blessed for his efforts) has done pretty much what he had to do based on the information he’s received from people who (essentially) pretend to know about such things as the virulence of this particular virus. It’s not like he knew about this disease in advance — it’s only been around in the world for about 3 months — not long enough for trends to be established. The progression of the disease is still in the realm of conjecture. So he has to trust the opinions of medically informed people, and then, based on their advice, he has to take what he deems to be appropriate action.
The action he has taken is prophylactic (i.e., it’s a preventative action rather than curative one; defensive rather than offensive). Hence, we find ourselves in the situation we are in today. It’s not his fault. No! It’s his responsibility as the leader of this nation. He’s doing the right thing. we have to trust in his assessment because the alternative is an open door to immense tragedy.
The problem with this kind of response, however, is that we have to do things we are not really very good at. We have to physically separate ourselves from other people — even from the people we love; our children, our grandchildren, our friends. We cannot do the things we would normally do — even shopping has an element of fear built into it now — and being functional in the marketplace is so normative for human behavior that it almost defines us. And yet… So we have to live with a brokenness that that is not comfortable for humankind; a world of frantic anticipation for something we can’t really comprehend.
So, should we retreat? Should we exist only in the antiseptic virtual world of internet communication? What then becomes of our humanness? It becomes thinner, lacking in competence and confidence, allowing fear of the unknown to guide our thoughts and emotions. We are not made for this.
This episode in history becomes a true Lent for the human race. When all else is denied by imposition rather than by choice, we must, I believe, seek the only place that is firm — except that it’s not a place — it’s a person. It is God who will guide us in this most difficult moment, and I trust that He will not abandon His faithful. That’s why I’m so pleased that President Trump has asked our nation to pray as One. This is wisdom.

Biden is totally corrupt. Anyone who votes for him must be totally devoid of any rational thought.
